The narrow streets to the left and right of Istiklal Caddesi near Taksim Square hold all sorts of bars, nightclubs, and cafés. But most of the scene is pretty tame - a lot more backgammon and tea than hardcore clubbing. If you do find a place with dancing, don't be surprised to see all the boys dancing with boys, and girls with girls (if there even are any girls).
